DIRFloortime® is a developmental, individual characteristics, and relationship-based model that provides a developmental framework for success across the lifespan. DIR® PROFILE BUILDING
The process of creating your child's DIR® Profile brings together the three key components of DIRFloortime®: the 'D', the 'I' and the 'R', to identify your child's strengths and reach a comprehensive understanding of their developmental differences and vulnerabilities.
The DIR® Profile scaffolds the creation of Floortime® play experiences that are tailored to your child's unique needs and it ensures that support is specifically targeted to your family. A combination of play based observations, caregiver questionnaires, caregiver interviews and standardized and non-standardized assessment are used to gain a comprehensive picture of your family’s needs and build your child's DIR® Profile.
DIRFLOORTIME® PLAY
Helen uses the DIRFloortime® framework to curate joyful play experiences for families because she believes that a child's development can be best nurtured in the context of playful interactions with their caregiver. DIRFloortime® play sessions offer families the opportunity to experience pleasurable, positive interactions with their child.
Determining and respecting what a child finds interesting and intrinsically motivating is Helen's first step in supporting a child's developmental growth. Helen then consciously and deliberately expands on this natural interest in a way that is meaningful for the child and supports their flourishing and thriving.

DIRFLOORTIME® COACHING
A key component of the DIRFloortime® framework is caregiver coaching because at Play Potential we believe that caregivers are central to their child's well-being. The coaching focuses on guiding caregivers to attune to their child, so they can promote their child's development intentionally and meaningfully through playful interactions.
By using a collaborative partnership approach from the first conversation with a family, Helen supports caregivers to begin to deepen their understanding of their child and their experience of the world. Helen nurtures each child to reach their fullest potential by curating practical strategies for caregivers that facilitate their child’s capacity to regulate, engage, and interact.
LITERACY SKILL BUILDING
Helen is a dynamic British trained special educator who is a specialist in thinking and learning differences. Her work supports individuals to positively understand themselves and empowers advocacy for their unique needs learning both inside and outside of the classroom, so they become successful, independent learners.
In her work Helen uses the strengths based approach of DIRFloortime® combined with advanced training in the fields of dyslexia and psychometrics. Helen creates a learning environment in which individuals feel valued and supported, and able to engage with their learning process. To ensure all learners reach their fullest potential Helen's process is two-fold: literacy skill building combined with expanding the process of learning to learn.
